Sweetpolly's Creations presented Old Glory Chapter 22 with the first of hopefully many more donations. Donations were received in the amount of $125 and this amount was doubled by SPC for a total of $250.
We have the sparkle and shine with ballerinas, unicorns and anime characters. All ready to give your room a little something, something!
Vases are no longer used just for flowers. Our custom creations combine decoupage and a faux clay finish to bring you these one-of-a-kind creations. Combine two or three to create a decorative setting above the fireplace; add your cooking utensils for a stylish kitchen fixture or if you want to use it for flowers, use it for flowers! The uses are unlimited!
There are many ways an individual can give back to their community including:
At Sweetpolly's Creations take pride in our efforts to give back to our community as well. Children are our passion and our future. This program is one way we help them.
We all know that the key to a child's future is their ability to read and comprehend. What better way to encourage reading than through a colorful and/or educational book!
1001% of funds received go towards purchasing books from local authors. Those books are donated to a local non-profit organization. There are no administrative costs. Books are shipped and delivered at no additional cost.
All donations are accepted.
Book donations to date include:
- The Fort Detrick, MD MWR Childcare Centers
- The Pajama Program
- Montgomery Count, MD Sheriff's Domestic Violence Resource Office
The Pajama Program is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and new storybooks. Snuggling up in cozy, new pajamas with their very own new book, these children are given a secure and nurturing “good night” at bedtime.
Sweetpolly’s Creations would like to thank everyone who recently donated through our website or on Facebook.
You helped us collect 27 sets of pajamas for the Pajama Program.
In addition, we will donate 27 copies of our book “Do Bears Eat Pancakes?” to the program.
Throughout the coming years, we will be looking for new opportunities to give back to our community.
25 copies of children's book “Do Bears Eat Pancakes?” went to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Resource Office
25 “Georgie the Giraffe” stuffed animals went to The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Resource Office.
The Alpha Pregnancy Center educates, supports and empowers women facing unplanned pregnancies with compassionate and professional medical care.
In addition, I discovered that they offer free pajamas to clients children in their "clothing shop." How wonderful, I thought to myself. They help children before and after. That's how my desire to give to them started. I utilized and reached out to my Facebook network and was able to raise enough funds to purchase 59 pairs of children’s pajamas. I matched the purchase with free copies of both of my children’s books; “Do Bears Eat Pancakes?” and ‘Miranda and the Lost Shoe.” I can’t say thank you enough to those who donated from the goodness of their heart.

THE SMALLEST FEET LEAVE THE BIGGEST FOOTPRINTS ON OUR HEART SGAG transforms donated wedding dresses into burial garments, known as Angelic Gowns, for babies that are stillborn or die shortly after birth. These Angelic Gowns are given to grieving parents at no charge through hospitals, funeral homes, and individual family requests.
I found this group and their request for donations on Facebook and what they do touched my heart. Though they weren't local, I sat down and autographed books, packed them up along with some Georgie the Giraffe stuffies and shipped them out right away.

The MWR is a quality of life program for military members and their families. Some services include Armed Forces Recreation Centers; Child, Youth and School Services; Recreation and Leisure; Entertainment and Leisure; and Libraries.
Because of you and your donations, Sweetpolly's Creations was delighted to deliver fifty-six (56) copies of Miranda and the Lost Shoe and Do Bears Eat Pancakes children's books. The books were distributed among two of their childcare centers located in Silver Spring and Fort Detrick, Maryland. As a former Marine and Soldier, who once-upon-a-time used the base childcare center, this was particularly heart warming.

While antique store shopping I found this super-cute 1964 pattern of a cape. Here's my take on it...
Every year Sweetpolly's Creations gives back to our community. This year we are asking for donations for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Old Glory Chapter 22. I am an active member of this chapter. 100% of donations go directly to the Westminster chapter. It's a non-profit organization that gives ill and injured veterans the opportunity to live a life with respect and dignity.
Sweetpolly's Creations will match any donation received up to $500.00.
Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference.
